I wanted to thank you for offering the healthy eating class. I have always been able to lose the "quick 10" (sometimes 20) pounds the completely WRONG way. This year I hit a wall I was working my butt off and counting calories for over a month and not seeing the scale budge. Jenn helped me learn that all the "tips" that a decade of fad diets ingrained in me were actually sabotaging my efforts. I soon started to see the scale reflect my efforts while eating more food more often. I find the choices I make are now much more satisfying. I no longer feel guilty if I decide to have a piece of chocolate or a cookie, instead I enjoy it and understand it IS part of a healthy lifestyle to indulge once in awhile. This truly has become a lifestyle change and I know this because for the first time I'm not counting the days/weeks until a diet is over (i.e. when I can: I can eat a piece of toast, a sweet potato, fruit (!); or when I can stop eating cabbage soup or drinking cran-water, grapefruit juice, etc. - I've tried them all!) More than just being able to lose weight, I find that I care what I'm putting in my body. I look for more real food and read ingredient labels and it's not a chore or a diet that can only be sustained for a few weeks; this is a lifestyle that I am proud to have adopted. Thank you! Leah



Good Morning Jenn,

I just wanted to thank you for a great Healthy Eating Session... I can't believe how well I feel :) The best part is that I am finally fitting back into clothes that have been sitting in my closet for the past 2 years- I owe you a huge thank you!!! You have truely made a difference in my life and I will forever be grateful. I will definetely bring questions with me on Saturday because I AM nervous about continuing this path without your guidence.... I actually have had some anxiety over it because even though I have my fiance cooking healthy meals I still find hidden JUNK in random places. For example I opened the freezer this morning and a king size Reese's Peanut Butter Cup came flying out...or like last night he made mini cheese cakes and so I couldn't resist one after dinner... but I REFUSE to eat another and there's still 10 left in the fridge... I just have to keep telling myself that I am strong and will fight the urge to devour any more treats till a weekend treat.... I enjoy eating my healthy food and it DOES make me feel good!

Hi Jenn and Kerri,

Just want to thank you for offering a class like this - it all seems like common sense, but it's a different story to apply it to your every day life. Jenn has a great personality to do this - she's very enthusiastic and really believes in healthy eating. She makes it easy for someone to change their eating habits, that it's a slow process and takes a lot of work, but the reward is totally worth it. We learned that awareness and planning are key to healthy living. Jenn is honest when reviewing your meal lists, but she always finds something beneficial too for encouragement. I've never seen my husband count calories like this and make such good eating choices - and it's continuing even though he doesn't have to pass the list by Jenn any more!

I just wanted to share with you my positive experience with the wonderful Jenn Looney. As you know, I took her healthy eating classes as well as trained with her one on one. When I signed up for her class, I really didn't think I was going to learn anything I didn't already know and I had little faith that I was going to see any change. I WAS WRONG. Jen did teach me things that I knew but what she did that was even more important, was show me what I was doing very wrong... not just my eating but my train of thought when it comes to food. She helped me recognize that I was sabotaging myself with how I think about food. Her one on one workouts well, lets just say that they were tough and pushed me beyond my comfort level. I lost 13lbs and feel stronger from her workouts. I think she is a very valuable addition to TFS and we are very lucky that she has done what many of us wish we could do, change our lives to follow our dream and do what makes us happy!

Jen has been a very positive influence on me and I look forward to working with her again!

I am thankful beyond words for The Fitness Studio~ no other gym has what TFS does ~ the people, the instructors, and YOU. I am down 60lbs in a little over a year and I look forward to the next 50!! I know that I will be successful because I have the support of TFS!!!

Jenn, I just wanted to tell you how glad I am (and Mom) are that we tOok your class. I really got a lot out of your classes. I've tried a lot of your recipes and regularly use your label reading tips! I feel much better about the choices I am making and setting. A good example for my kids! Even Michael is willing to try different things!
A few people have asked about your class. I have praised your knowledge on the subject matter and how your 80/20 Rule allows you to still enjoy yourself, I think you found your calling in life in your new job!!!!

I just completed the six week nutrition classes with Jenn Looney. Jenn taught me to love food agian. Instead of controlling food by "dieting" it has now become my "nourishment" and a way to fuel my body. I have found enjoyment rather than guilt through Jenn's 80/20 rule, having an occasional cookie or piece of cake. I have become much more in tuned to my bodys signals of hunger, eating not 3 times a day, but 5-6 times. I will feel little pangs of hunger and say to myself "hey I think its time for my snack- my favorites being hummus and veggies or greek yogurt with fruit". I have my snack and my mind and body feels "OK I'm ready to keep going". I have much more energy and mental clarity and never feel deprived knowing I can trust my body. Jenn has taught me to be in charge of my eating, not in control. I was so restrictive and rigid with my food choices before meeting with Jenn, that not only did I feel like I was deprived but I was not losing weight. Jenn was able to calculate my ideal caloric intake for my age and activity level, 1700-2000 calories/day. I was taking in on average 1200 calories/day and training for a triathalon 6 days/week and weight training 4 days /week. Thanks to Jenn I am eating and enjoying the whole process of healthy eating and cooking-love Jenn's oatmeal recipe.
Jenn has a positive energy and love for teaching others about nutrition and what works best for each individual. She reviewed our food journals every week and helped us to see how well we were doing, and in my case how I could eat more. Who wouldn't want to be told to eat more yummy food? I looked forward to our weekly visits and her emails she forwarded on recipes, artificial sweeteners, whole grain labeling and so much more. Thank you for offering this class.

Jenn's healthy eating class is a simple approach to eating smart and feeling really really good. I have more energy, I sleep better, and I'm no longer constantly thinking about food. If I eat a little something that is probably not a great choice, my body tells me...I really feel like crap. I love the fact that Jenn constantly sends tips and recipes to me even though my session with her is over. I lost 6lbs in the three weeks I met with Jenn...Thanks Jenn for keeping it simple but informational at the same time!!! Love it!
